I'm old fashioned. 
I think bikes would be great for getting places, plus the added health benefits. The only downfall being parts-especially tires and tubes.
Horses don't need parts, so that is a plus. They just need food and care. And there is the potential to breed them.
Also, great for a family since they can pull carriages.
