We are blessed by seeking to establish Zion
When we seek to establish Zion, the Lord blesses our efforts with the very power to accomplish the task.
1 Nephi 13: 37 says the following:
We are to put on the strength of Zion
By sanctifying ourselves and seeking to establish Zion, the Lord gives us power in our priesthood and He then redeems Zion.
2 Nephi 8: 24 says the following:
D&C 113: 7-8 says the following:
We are to loose ourselves from the bands of our necks
Zion is currently in a scattered condition. If we return to the Lord and seek to establish Zion, the Lord will speak to us and remove the curse. We will then be gathered to Zion.
2 Nephi 8: 25 says the following:
D&C 113: 9-10 says the following:
We are to labor in Zion and for Zion and not for money or Babylon
If we remain connected to Babylon and mammon in any way, we will perish. Our only labor should be to establish Zion.
D&C 26: 31 says the following:
We are to seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion
What was said to these brethren applies equally to ourselves.
In D&C 6: 6 the Lord said the following to Oliver Cowdery:
In D&C 11: 6 the Lord said the following to Hyrum Smith:
In D&C 12: 6 the Lord said the following to Joseph Knight, Sen:
In D&C 14: 6 the Lord said the following to David Whitmer:
We are to follow the Prophet Joseph Smith's example in seeking to establish Zion
Shall we not devote all our service in Zion's establishment, like Joseph? Will not the Lord also give us strength, as He did Joseph? Has not the Lord also inspired us to move the cause of Zion forward? Can He not do this? Shall we not be diligent? Shall we not pray for the establishment of Zion and weep while it remains unestablished? Will not the Lord bless our efforts by causing Zion to flourish? He will, even with power.
D&C 21: 7-8
D&C 24: 7
We are to labor with our whole soul to establish Zion
This is to be our whole labor.
In D&C 30: 11 the Lord said the following to John Whitmer:
By seeking to establish Zion in righteousness and holiness, the devil himself will lose his power
And the heavens will show forth their powers, to the end that Zion is redeemed.
In D&C 35: 24 the Lord said the following to Sidney Rigdon:
The establishment of Zion is a calling
Like Brother Covill, we also are called to bring forth Zion. If we labor and ask the Lord to establish Zion, it will flourish and become a reality, instead of a distant ideal.
In D&C 39: 13 the Lord said the following to James Covill:
Zion must arise
Only a Zion people who are working and praying to establish Zion will receive the power of God necessary for the redemption of Zion. We are Zion. And we must arise.
D&C 82: 14
In conclusion
Why should we participate in this Establishment of Zion Think Tank?
and lastly
When we seek to establish Zion, the Lord blesses our efforts with the very power to accomplish the task.
1 Nephi 13: 37 says the following:
And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth my Zion at that day, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost; and if they endure unto the end they shall be lifted up at the last day, and shall be saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb; and whoso shall publish peace, yea, tidings of great joy, how beautiful upon the mountains shall they be.
We are to put on the strength of Zion
By sanctifying ourselves and seeking to establish Zion, the Lord gives us power in our priesthood and He then redeems Zion.
2 Nephi 8: 24 says the following:
Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
D&C 113: 7-8 says the following:
7 Questions by Elias Higbee: What is meant by the command in Isaiah, 52d chapter, 1st verse, which saith: Put on thy strength, O Zion—and what people had Isaiah reference to?
8 He had reference to those whom God should call in the last days, who should hold the power of priesthood to bring again Zion, and the redemption of Israel; and to put on her strength is to put on the authority of the priesthood, which she, Zion, has a right to by lineage; also to return to that power which she had lost.

We are to loose ourselves from the bands of our necks
Zion is currently in a scattered condition. If we return to the Lord and seek to establish Zion, the Lord will speak to us and remove the curse. We will then be gathered to Zion.
2 Nephi 8: 25 says the following:
Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit down, O Jerusalem; loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
D&C 113: 9-10 says the following:
9 What are we to understand by Zion loosing herself from the bands of her neck; 2d verse?
10 We are to understand that the scattered remnants are exhorted to return to the Lord from whence they have fallen; which if they do, the promise of the Lord is that he will speak to them, or give them revelation. See the 6th, 7th, and 8th verses. The bands of her neck are the curses of God upon her, or the remnants of Israel in their scattered condition among the Gentiles.

See the 6th, 7th, and 8th verses. The bands of her neck are the curses of God upon her, or the remnants of Israel in their scattered condition among the Gentiles.
We are to labor in Zion and for Zion and not for money or Babylon
If we remain connected to Babylon and mammon in any way, we will perish. Our only labor should be to establish Zion.
D&C 26: 31 says the following:
But the laborer in Zion shall labor for Zion; for if they labor for money they shall perish.
We are to seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion
What was said to these brethren applies equally to ourselves.
In D&C 6: 6 the Lord said the following to Oliver Cowdery:
Now, as you have asked, behold, I say unto you, keep my commandments, and seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion
In D&C 11: 6 the Lord said the following to Hyrum Smith:
Now, as you have asked, behold, I say unto you, keep my commandments, and seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion
In D&C 12: 6 the Lord said the following to Joseph Knight, Sen:
Now, as you have asked, behold, I say unto you, keep my commandments, and seek to bring forth and establish the cause of Zion
In D&C 14: 6 the Lord said the following to David Whitmer:
Seek to bring forth and establish my Zion. Keep my commandments in all things.
D&C 21: 7-8
7 For thus saith the Lord God: Him have I inspired to move the cause of Zion in mighty power for good, and his diligence I know, and his prayers I have heard.
8 Yea, his weeping for Zion I have seen, and I will cause that he shall mourn for her no longer; for his days of rejoicing are come unto the remission of his sins, and the manifestations of my blessings upon his works.
8 Yea, his weeping for Zion I have seen, and I will cause that he shall mourn for her no longer; for his days of rejoicing are come unto the remission of his sins, and the manifestations of my blessings upon his works.
D&C 24: 7
For thou shalt devote all thy service in Zion; and in this thou shalt have strength.
We are to labor with our whole soul to establish Zion
This is to be our whole labor.
In D&C 30: 11 the Lord said the following to John Whitmer:
And your whole labor shall be in Zion, with all your soul, from henceforth; yea, you shall ever open your mouth in my cause, not fearing what man can do, for I am with you. Amen.
By seeking to establish Zion in righteousness and holiness, the devil himself will lose his power
And the heavens will show forth their powers, to the end that Zion is redeemed.
In D&C 35: 24 the Lord said the following to Sidney Rigdon:
Keep all the commandments and covenants by which ye are bound; and I will cause the heavens to shake for your good, and Satan shall tremble and Zion shall rejoice upon the hills and flourish;
The establishment of Zion is a calling
Like Brother Covill, we also are called to bring forth Zion. If we labor and ask the Lord to establish Zion, it will flourish and become a reality, instead of a distant ideal.
In D&C 39: 13 the Lord said the following to James Covill:
Thou art called to labor in my vineyard, and to build up my church, and to bring forth Zion, that it may rejoice upon the hills and flourish.
Zion must arise
Only a Zion people who are working and praying to establish Zion will receive the power of God necessary for the redemption of Zion. We are Zion. And we must arise.
D&C 82: 14
For Zion must increase in beauty, and in holiness; her borders must be enlarged; her stakes must be strengthened; yea, verily I say unto you, Zion must arise and put on her beautiful garments.
