www.ecoloblue.com/ecoloblue.htmlA company that makes a dehumidifier that purifies the water for drinking. Units that produce from 28 liters up to 5000 liters of drinking water a day. Uses relatively little electricity and could be powered by solar for a completely stand alone unit if desired.

That's great that you found this company! I posted on this forum awhile ago about the Vapair (see link below to that thread), which does essentially the same thing as the EcoloBlue, but the Vapair company went belly-up, apparently, so I'm glad to see another company filling the vacuum and offering another machine like this. I think that with this machine, the Berkeley Water Filters and the Airwells, all drinking water needs could be taken care of for an entire family without having to dig a well or be connected to city water pipes. These technologies allow us to completely cut the ties to Babylon's control of the drinking water supply. Excellent research, pallasathena! eozthinktank.proboards3.com/index.cgi?board=techapp&action=display&thread=45

That is really neat! Now can this unit be hooked up to the house to feed water to all the faucets? I just did a quick read of the website and it seems to mostly talk about drinking water. Anyway, great product!

My wife and I currently have a envelope that we're saving money in to purchase an ecoloblue in conjunction with a solar panel that it can be plugged into.
The only downside is that it requires filters. We're going to purchase some to hold in surplus, but they'll eventually run-out.

Check out this new guy. Product is called Lifesavers. It blocks everything from 15 nanometers up. That is all pathogens that could cause a problem. You just fill up the container, like a big thermos and inside is the filter. You pump it a few times and out comes pure drinking water. Its about 130.00 USD. Its good for 6000 liters of water. Just buy extra filters or there is a jerry can version for more money that will do like 20000 liters of water. Literally, you can have sewage in the water, full of debris and who knows what else, and it comes out clean with no extra boiling or chemicals. There is a demo of it on TED.
