The spirit of prophecy manifests itself to me in a means I term "casting lots." I allow the Lord to speak to me thru randomness.
Most recently, thru random selection, my attention was drawn to D&C section 63. The message I received indicates that because of the presence of: unrepentant adulterers, those who lust thru pornography, unbelieving and fearful saints, liars, and saints who trust in pharmaceuticals the church remains in an unjustified and condemned state. Nevertheless -- thru faith and obedience -- salvation is still available to anyone on a person-by-person basis.

I'll second that.
I can't remember exactly when I learned it (I think it was around 2006), but I also received from the Spirit that the church was currently in an unjustified state due to unrepentant adultery and other sins (sec. 63) not being properly taken care of (D&C 64: 1-14).

I wouldn't say that I have the spirit of Prophecy although I do tend to feel I know exactly what is going to happen. For example I do not think that I could prophesy with the Holy Ghost (new scripture), but I do tend to feel more so that with the Spirit of Christ I can interpret already existing prophecy. That is pretty much what my website is about interpreting the prophecy within the scriptures while not being clouded with already current interpretations.

In the past three years, I've had several occasions where I've prophesied to someone. In all the incidences, I described something, in detail, that was going to happen in the future. I spoke with confidence, and without hesitation. In my heart I knew it was true and that the information was coming from God. Pretty much, the information was that some big disaster is going to happen soon. There is going to be such massive destruction that chaos will ensue. People will beg for help, but it will not come soon enough. And, as I combine this prophecy with a dream I dreamed, it will happen in October this year.

And, as I combine this prophecy with a dream I dreamed, it will happen in October this year. Your dream wouldn't have anything to do with General Conference and the church in particular, would it? Or is this a prophecy of the American nation (or other nations)?

I'll explain in more detail. It was not a specific place. Best to describe it as a great city in a valley. I was standing on a main road slightly slanted, miles away from the destruction. I was looking down from a housing development looking out over the valley. I could see the fires, the devastation, and smoke against the pitch black night sky. A woman drove up the road on a motorbike and was frantically fleeing the city below. I stopped her, knowing full well that she was a reporter. She quickly stated to me the horror and the death. She then sped away further up the road. I was in shock, and turned to the large number of people who had gathered to look at the city from the housing development. They were all in Halloween costumes, and I realized right then and there it was October. I then looked closely at the people, and realized that they were burned, and injured as well. It wasn't until I recently was speaking to a friend about this, that I put the conference center and my prophecy as occurring in the same month. I will say this, when I related the dream, i knew that it was big. Very big. How it happened, i wasn't sure, but I knew that many people would die and it would be so unexpected by the people there. To clarify, I know that the Halloween was to give me the month, not a specific date.

Now that you have hindsight, were you ever able to confirm what your dream was really trying to communicate to you?
