If I had to guess upon which principles education will be founded in the New Jerusalem, or any other Zion society, I would guess that education will be founded squarely upon the principle of freedom.
Here's why:
1. Lucifer's Plan (which was rejected by God) was to force people to be good.
2. Christ's Plan (which was really God's plan) was to give people the freedom to choose to be good.
3. Pretty sure God would not want to force people to be educated.
In Babylon's schools, children are forced to be educated in 3 ways:
1. They are forced what to learn (ie. what the teacher finds important),
2. They are forced how to learn (ie. however the teacher chooses), and
3. They are forced when to learn (ie. which days and for how long).
It makes sense that in Zion, children will be given the opportunity to CHOOSE to learn:
1. Whatever they decide is important to them,
2. However they want to approach the subject, and
3. On their own timetable.
I'm certain this scares most parents -- especially those parents who don't trust that God knew what He was doing when he created their children. We MUST learn to trust their Creator--He's pretty smart, you know.
FYI - There are a couple dozen freedom-based schools in operation in the world. Their students ALL learn to read and write, every one of them that chooses to attend college gets in the college of their 1st or 2nd choice, and 42% of them start a business within 10 years of graduating (that's 14 times the rate of students from traditional, force-based schools).
